Everything You Need To Know
Q. Who makes the Four-Flavour Ragi Cookies Hamper, and where is it made?
A. The cookies are handcrafted by Agro Queens Food, a women entrepreneur group led by Rutujan Navase in Satara, Maharashtra. PIP AGRO works with these women bakers to bring you their small-batch ragi cookies.
Q. How are these ragi cookies prepared?
A. The cookies are hand-baked in small batches using ragi (finger millet) flour, whole wheat flour, pure cow ghee and jaggery. Each flavour has its own additions, from cocoa and chocochips to cardamom, dry fruits or rolled oats.
Q. Which flavours and ingredients are included in the hamper?
A. Each 400 g hamper contains four separate 100 g packs: Ragi Choco, Ragi Elaichi, Ragi Dry Fruits and Ragi Oats. All four use ragi flour, whole wheat flour, jaggery, ghee and a leavening agent. The Choco cookies add cocoa powder and chocochips; Elaichi adds cardamom; Dry Fruits adds almonds, cashews and pistachios; and Oats adds rolled oats.
Q. Are these cookies sugar-free or gluten-free, and what allergens do they contain?
A. No. The cookies are sweetened with jaggery, which contributes added sugar, so they are not sugar-free. They contain whole wheat flour and are not gluten-free. All four flavours contain wheat and milk from ghee; the Dry Fruits flavour also contains almonds, cashews and pistachios. They are made without artificial preservatives. Check each pack for the complete ingredient and allergen information, including the chocochips in the Choco flavour.
Q. How should I store the cookies, and where can I check their shelf life?
A. The shelf life is 3 months from the date of manufacture. Store in a cool, dry, clean place away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. After opening, transfer the cookies to an airtight glass jar or clean stainless-steel tin to help retain their crispness, and handle with clean, dry hands. Follow the manufacturing and best-before or expiry dates printed on each pack; opening a pack does not start a new shelf-life period.
