From the name itself this rice is usually the same as we got jeera rice in the hotel. Jire-Saal Rice is quite famous in South India. It is somehow like Kolam rice. This Rice originally grown in the Konkan belt and also in some parts of Kolhapur. It's non-sticky and best for making Pulao and biryani. By appearance it looks like a small grain rice but after cooking, the grain becomes double the original state.
